印象大不同: 以Google Images 看香港

(click here for English) 相信大家都有用過Google Images。功能強大的它，讓大家只消按幾個掣，就可以搜尋到成千上萬的圖片。 Google是個很有趣的工具：因為人們所做的每個搜尋，都會直接影響到以後搜尋的結果，所以說Google就是人類思維的結晶品。而當搜尋地方名的時候，因為不可能會有一張能代表整個國家或是城市所有東西的圖片，因此搜尋得出的頭幾個結果就變得很有意思了：它們幾乎是「我們」（也就是說整個世界），對一個地方的認知和印象。 Google是個世界性的網站，所以當用不同的語言去搜尋的時候，得出的結果就像是一個地區性調查一般。這讓我忽發奇想：究竟世界上的人（英文搜尋者）和香港人（正體中文搜尋者＊）：對香港這個城市，想法有什麼的不同呢？ 我用Google Image搜尋了好幾個香港的地名，先用英文，再用中文，然後選擇了第一個搜尋結果的圖片。大部分的地名中英兩文的結果都差不多，但有分別的好幾個，確實能顯示出人們對香港的不同印象。
